How to use Dr. Bob’s Natural Bug Defense
The formula repels and deters common household pests. It works best when it is applied deliberately — along the edges and entry points where insects actually travel.
Before you start
- Shake the bottle well. The essential oils separate between uses.
- Clear crumbs, standing water and clutter from the areas you plan to treat.
- Spot-test delicate surfaces — unfinished wood, natural stone, silk and untreated fabric — and wait for the test area to dry before continuing.
- Keep the bottle out of reach of children, and read the full label.

Hold 8–12 inches from the surface
A steady, even pass gives better coverage than a heavy soak. You are laying down a boundary, not flooding a room. - 2
Treat the edges and entries first
Baseboards, door and window frames, thresholds, under sinks, behind and beneath appliances, and any visible insect-traffic zone. - 3
Work outward
Follow interior perimeters, then treat exterior doorways, patios, garage thresholds and foundation edges. - 4
Let it air dry
Leave treated surfaces to dry on their own. Ventilate normally; the botanical scent softens as it dries.
Fogging and large-area treatment
For garages, crawlspaces, attics, warehouses and other large volumes, Dr. Bob’s is compatible with a ULV fogger. Use the 1 gallon size, shake or stir before filling the reservoir, and fog with the space empty of people and pets. Work from the far corner toward the exit, then let the area rest and ventilate before re-entry. Cover or remove exposed food and dishes first.
Routine maintenance
Indoors: re-treat perimeters every two to four weeks, and after mopping or deep cleaning the treated edges.
Outdoors: reapply after heavy rain, pressure washing, or any time you notice renewed activity.
Peak season: through a Louisiana summer, weekly touch-ups on doorways and patios keep the boundary fresh.
Precautions
- Keep out of reach of children. Read and follow all label directions.
- Avoid spraying directly into eyes; rinse with water if contact occurs.
- Do not spray directly onto food, food preparation surfaces or dishes.
- Spot-test plants on a single leaf and wait a day before treating fully.
- Store upright, away from direct sun and freezing temperatures.
